CHAGEE Food Safety Report - October

Release Date:2025-10-27

Raising the Bar: Strengthening Everyday Excellence at CHAGEE

October has been a month of pride and progress. The launch of our new outlets at Changi Airport and the Pagoda House concept store showcases CHAGEE’s growth and innovation in Singapore. Adding to the celebration, we are proud to mark a significant milestone of reaching 200 outlets in Malaysia with our Global Flagship store at WOLO Kuala Lumpur, a testament to the trust and support of our community. While we celebrate these achievements, our commitment remains unchanged: to uphold world-class standards in food safety, product quality, and customer satisfaction. These standards are what make every milestone possible — and every cup memorable.

1. Food Safety & Product Quality Training

This month, we placed emphasis on practical, hands-on learning to build stronger food safety awareness across our teams:

  • Small groups, onsite and point-to-point coaching sessions: 45 partners across CHAGEE outlets from APAC markets completed refresher modules on cleaning SOP and focus training on severe red line audit aspects.
  • Cross-market knowledge sharing: Auditors from mature markets like Singapore and Malaysia shared best practices with our growing markets in Vietnam and the Philippines, helping to accelerate their learning curve.
  • Government-accredited courses: To strengthen compliance with local regulatory requirements.

By focusing on practical application rather than just theory, we are ensuring that food safety and product quality are not just understood but lived out daily in every outlet.

2. Audit Measures

In September 2025, the CHAGEE APAC audit team continued to monitor performance across our outlets through monthly audit inspections:

3. In-store Audit Findings

Our audit teams continued routine surveillance and coaching to reinforce standards. Each finding was turned into a teachable moment through on-the-spot coaching, ensuring partners not only make necessary adjustments but also understand the rationale behind the standard.

Issue 1: No designated label for colour-coded storage container for red-edge towel during operational hours
Measures Taken: The red-edge towel is designated for food contact surfaces and must be kept in a properly assigned container to maintain hygiene and cleanliness. The audit finding was shared with the partner on the spot, and immediate rectification was carried out by labelling the container appropriately.

Issue 2: Gap between carton boxes and the wall did not meet requirements
Measures Taken: Maintaining a sufficient gap between stocks and the wall is essential to minimise the risk of pest infestation. The audit finding was highlighted to the partner on the spot, and immediate rectification was made by rearranging the stocks to ensure adequate spacing was left.

4. Food Safety & Product Quality Measures

1) Our Service Promise

  • At CHAGEE, every cup of tea reflects our commitment to excellence. To ensure our customers always enjoy the very best, we uphold a clear service promise: if you are not satisfied, we will remake it for you. This approach not only guarantees quality in every serving but also builds trust and confidence with our customers, knowing that their satisfaction is our top priority.

2) Monitoring of Concentration Level of Sanitising Solution

  • Maintaining proper hygiene requires precision, especially in the effectiveness of our sanitising solution. Each morning, our team uses chlorine test strips to measure the sanitiser concentration, ensuring it falls within the recommended safe and effective range. This proactive step safeguards against harmful bacteria and ensures all tools, utensils, and surfaces are sanitised.

5. Fun Facts about Tea

Did you know that tea leaves were once used as money in ancient China?

Back in the Tang and Ming dynasties, compressed tea bricks were so valuable that people traded them just like coins or gold.

Tea was not only loved for its taste and health benefits (it was a symbol of wealth, status, and respect.)

So next time you sip your cup of CHAGEE tea, you are enjoying a drink that was literally worth its weight in gold!

Together, these measures embody CHAGEE’s holistic approach to food safety and product quality—combining a customer-first service promise with comprehensive hygiene practices. By ensuring satisfaction in every cup and safeguarding the highest safety standards behind the scenes, we create an experience our customers can trust and enjoy with complete confidence.
