CHAGEE Food Safety Report - January

Release Date:2026-01-30

January marks a thoughtful beginning to 2026 at CHAGEE, as we continue strengthening the foundations that support safe operations, consistent product quality, and meaningful customer experiences. With renewed focus and discipline at the start of the year, our teams across the APAC region remain committed to upholding the highest standards in every aspect of daily operations.

This month, we proudly celebrated the grand opening of CHAGEE’s Family Concept Store in Singapore—a space designed to welcome customers of all ages. This milestone reinforces the importance of food safety and hygiene excellence, as family-oriented environments require even greater attention to cleanliness, allergen awareness, and operational discipline to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone.

1. Food Safety & Product Quality Training

As we begin the year, emphasis was placed on reinforcing core food safety principles through structured refresher training and hands-on coaching. Partners participated in focused sessions covering hygiene fundamentals, safe ingredient handling, equipment sanitation, and product consistency.

Special attention was given to selected outlets, ensuring teams are well-prepared to manage peak operations while maintaining strict compliance with food safety and quality standards.

To date, more than 150 partners across the region have completed these updated sessions, reaffirming our shared goal of ensuring that every cup meets CHAGEE’s promise of quality and safety.

2. Audit Measures

Routine audits continued across APAC outlets to assess compliance, identify improvement opportunities, and reinforce best practices. These audits served not only as a compliance check, but also as a coaching platform—supporting outlets in strengthening execution and building confidence in daily operations.

Audit findings were addressed promptly, with immediate corrective actions taken where necessary, reinforcing accountability and continuous improvement at the outlet level.

3. In-store Audit Findings

Improvements made in stores following the audits:

Issue 1: Tea leaf residue found on the tea net

Measures Taken: The audit finding was shared with the partner on the spot, and immediate rectification was carried out by thoroughly cleaning and rinsing the tea net. Partners were reminded to inspect tea nets after each use and ensure they are properly cleaned and free from residue before reuse to prevent cross-contamination and maintain product quality.

Issue 2: Insufficient gap between chilled items and the chiller wall

Measures Taken: The audit finding was highlighted to the partner on the spot, and immediate corrective action was taken by rearranging the chilled items to maintain the required gap from the chiller wall. Partners were reminded that sufficient spacing is necessary to allow proper cold air circulation, ensuring ingredients are stored at optimal temperatures and food safety standards are upheld.

4. Food Safety & Product Quality Measures

1) Precision Brewing with Advanced Equipment

To ensure consistent taste and quality in every cup, CHAGEE utilises advanced tea brewing machines across our outlets. These machines are designed with precise temperature and brewing-time controls, allowing each batch of tea to be brewed under optimal conditions according to established standards. By standardising key brewing parameters, we minimise variability, preserve the natural aroma and flavour of the tea leaves, and ensure that every cup delivers the same premium quality our customers expect—regardless of outlet or time of day.

2) Expanded Hygiene Inspection Beyond Visible Areas

In addition to maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment and utensils, CHAGEE enforces comprehensive hygiene inspections that extend beyond visible surfaces. This includes routine checks and cleaning of less accessible areas such as underneath sinks and beneath storage racks, where dirt or moisture may accumulate. By addressing these often-overlooked areas, we reduce the risk of contamination, support effective pest prevention, and ensure a consistently clean and hygienic operating environment across all outlets.

5. Fun Facts about Tea

Did you know that white, green, yellow, oolong, and black teas all come from the same plant?

All true teas, meaning teas made from real tea leaves, are crafted from Camellia sinensis.

Their unique colors, flavors, and aromas are not from different plants, but from the careful processes that follow harvesting.

The degree of oxidation and fermentation gently shapes each tea’s distinctive character.

Let’s discover and enjoy these different teas at the CHAGEE store!

At CHAGEE, food safety and product quality remain the cornerstone of our brand promise. As we step into 2026, every audit, training session, and operational improvement reflects our commitment to building trust with our customers. With family-friendly spaces and growing communities across the region, we continue to safeguard what matters most—delivering tea that is crafted with care, consistency, and confidence in every cup.
